Last Minute Winter Patterns

Fiora Hat Merino Scarf Sweater Tenzing

Welcome to our second blog! This week we’re taking a look at some lovely patterns that are perfect for the end of winter. Come check them out.

Isn’t this sweater by Tonia Barry lovely?  It’s named “Lorelei” and Lorelei Glimore was one of my all time favorite television characters, so I just had to do this one.  I’ve started it using Tenzing yarn, which is a lovely sport weight yarn that is 85% merino and 15% yak.  It is so round and springy; it will show off the lace pattern beautifully.

 Pattern 2:

We just started our Baa-ble Hat Knit- Along on Wednesdays in February at 1. And so far, we all love this pattern. This hat is designed by Donna Smith, and was one of the most popular patterns on Ravelry last year.  You can do it in any worsted weight yarn. I’m using Super Fine Merino Aran yarn by Rowan. I’m going to try to make one of the sheep a multi-colored with a Madelinetosh yarn because, I’m not the black sheep of the family, I’m the tie-dyed one!!

Pattern 3:

The last pattern I wanted to show you is Underlying Structures Scarf by Jennifer Kirchenbauer.  This scarf is sculptural and looks super cool. I can’t wait to try this one.  And the pattern calls for Berroco Fiora yarn, which we carry. This scarf would be a perfect last minute winter item.

That’s all for this week! But check back soon, because spring is coming (with great new yarns), and we can’t wait to check out all the new patterns and colors.
